Being Scottish, Andy was attracted to the blueness of Blue Pencil. Not only is it his favourite colour, it’s also the colour of the national flag of Scotland. Indeed, because there isn’t much sunshine in Scotland, most Scottish people even look a little blue!

Andy has lived and worked in Poland for the last twenty years. His passion is teaching and learning, and he has pursued this passion in various roles as a teacher, trainer and HR manager. Yet his role in Blue Pencil is simple – to teach English in a way that’s fun and effective.

So far Andy has resisted the peer pressure in Blue Pencil to take up jogging, which seems to be an obsession amongst the teaching staff. He thinks that cycling is a much more pleasurable and sensible way to get from A to B … or from his flat in Żoliborz to the school in Bemowo.
